you can go to the local police station here where I live, only cost like 20-25$. But I believe you need the employee to be present with you in order to give his ID and info.

There are online services, we used one last year when we took on a contract for local schools, they required it. Otherwise if you have a local detective agency they can probably do it also.

You can do it online for about $30.00, but will need the persons consent and personal information. We have our employees fill out a consent form with the application and inform them that we will be doing a back-ground screen.

If you know where to look you can do them yourself for free. Those online pay services are over-priced and unreliable.
Here's one that will show any record in your county. https://www.alachuaclerk.org/court_r...ction=casehist I'd recommend getting previous address info for perspective employees and finding the info yourself. Or for that matter I can do it. It's not 100% gonna catch everything but neither will a report from the police department and it's much better than the crap the cheaper online pay services will feed you.

a company out of charlotte nc--choicepoint. cost is $15.00 each. i have my prospective employees and subs pay the fee--if they are willing to pay the $15.00, they are very likely going to pass. if i was picking up the tab, prrospective employees may tend to tell me what i want to hear, instead of the truth. good luck.

just curios , what types of records would rule out an employee for you
i have a employee with a couple felonys , not sex crime or murder or anything ,and hes my best worker
