should i put oil for my pumps back in?

i have a turf tracer, that i believe i am loosing the bearing in the right pump. i took the hyd filter off and drained out all the oil. i am buying a new mower today and dont plan on fixing the tt until winter. should i put the new filter back on and fill up the oil, or will it not make a difference?

also is a 61" scag tiger cub for 7699 a good deal? its last years model with 1 hour on it. this year they call it the wild cat.....

Well, is the mower where it's going to be until winter?
If you don't plan on moving it, I don't see the need but I might do something
to make sure you don't forget that it has no hydro oil, such as pulling a
battery cable off and attach a note to that, or something.
