Pump and psi confusion
I'm helping my neighbor try to get her system going. We are currently in a "drought" and the water tables have dropped. I'm pulling my hair out over this. I suspect a lack of pressure from the pump or the system is stretched too thin. Pictures included because they are worth 1000 words. Specifics are listed below:
Shallow well with 3/4 hp Sta-Rite that pumps 10 gpm. 2 gal pressure tank on top with 20psi of air. Not sure what the pressure switch is set at but the pump is not cycling. Zone 1- (6) Pro sprays with VAN's operating at 15 psi. This zone will not pop up, I suspect due to the low pressure. Zone 2 and 3- (3) I-20's operating at 25 psi, appear to operate correctly. Zone 4- (6) Pro sprays with VANs operating at 10 psi. Again, this zone will not pop up. Zone 5- (3) Pro sprays with 25 psi no problems noted. I have a few questions: 1. Is there any way to increase the pressure from the pump? 2. How does the pressure tank relate to the outlet pressure? 3. Are the spray zones stretchd too thin? Take out those van's and put a Fixed rain bird nozzle in
Van's throw out almost twice the amount of water to it's counter part |

an irrigation system cant run on 10-15 psi, 25 is still begging. Turn on a zone and disconnect the wire going to it.See if the pump ever builds enough pressure to actualy shut off. That will also help you find out what the switch is set to.

I think you dump the spray nozzles in favor of Rotators, and hope they work.

What are the sprays designed at? Q, T, H, F? 6 Full circles could be trying to put out 24 GPM which might be the issue.

Is there any way to increase pressure, or am I stuck with whatever the pump puts out? |

pumps do what they do - you reduce flows in the affected zones, is what you do

Look up the output of 10 van nozzles in the rb catalog

One other point - if the heads are failing to pop up, but working okay if they are pulled up by hand, then maybe the popup bodies need replacing.
