closing the deal

I have a big problem closing the deals just the last week I have failed to close seven deals I have compared pricing with other companies and they are about the same on it. I normally close almost all of me deals I don't know what is going on.

Are you overselling? Overselling is when you are still talking about what you can do for your customer when you should be saying, "So if you want me to go ahead with this, all I need is a deposit of fifty percent.

It is often hard to know when to close, and it is easy to oversell, I have oversold many times.

When a customer commits, or is ready to commit, the first thing they want to know is when can you do the job. So, I have learned that if I start talking about when I could have the work started and finished, they either go ahead, or let me know they are still considering the deal. If they are still considering, it is just a matter of finding out what it would take to get them to commit.

It could also just be a sign of the times and people are shopping more than buying, or buying only when it seems like a great deal.

Keep at it, and things will turn around.

Good luck!

Thanks I do need to work on not over selling but I really don't think it was that it could be the whole shopping around thing comparing prices and such I just hate the fact that I worked hard on advertising. And now the struggle to close never had the issue before I'm normally pretty good closing due to past Jobs But it was like I just lost out on 800 bucks a month in a weeks time

JRuss, are we talking about bidding lawn mowing accounts? If so, I think you are just getting underbid.

It certainly is tough on us when these things happen, just remember how this is not how things have been, and that it will not last.

The non legit guys will provide poor service and quality and be unreliable, then you can close the deals.

Dont let your bid's last over 10 "TEN" days.

I inform the custoemr when we can be there. it's kind of high pressured.

" we can be here on Thursday at 8:00 AM. "

then leave it hanging, if they say I need to check other bids, thats ok. Then I will give them a call back in 3 days.

Best of luck
