Like bcg said earlier, call your hack of a contractor and tell him to come fix this mess.

Or you can go my route and redo the whole system because I don't trust any contractor other than me.

Just and update. I went with at 12 inch extention and the Rain Bird R1318F Rotary Nozzle. Very similar to the MP rotator. Very slick nozzle and works perfectly.
