Hi Twin,
I appreciate your taking that time and didn't mean to argue Snap-On versus Craftsman. If the difference is significant, then it was probably a perfect comparison. I had been lead to believe that they were very close, but I'll defer to you guys who use them.
Best,
Todd

I disagree my snapon wrenches are easier grip hold bolt heads better than craftsmans. Less slippage (good for theknuckles)and less damage to bolt head when they are exposed. The angle on snapons is different from craftsmans and you can reach and turn bolts you can't with craftsman. They don't wear out as fast either. Screwdrivers have a better cut and wear longer and when they do they replace them. Ratchets are much easier on the hands.

My wife bought me Snap-on ratchet handles for Xmas years ago and I always reach for them vs my Craftsmans. Not the subject here though. Does anybody know what that clanging noise is that is coming from the rear of my 54ZB when I start out forward? When I brought it up to customer service, they said a service tech would come pick it up for inspection, but this time of year I just can't afford to be without and I know how busy these service shops are. If it's a simple tweak, I can do it, otherwise I'll just wear my headphones and ignore it until it stops making the noise or fails. When I get back in town I'll post some pics/ video of the cuts. It does have a nice deck (not that I am an expert) with rubber wheels all round to keep it from scalping and the cut looks good, at least in the sections of my yard in OH that aren't underwater (;->.

You know, other than that broken bolt, yours was the one that was doing ok....
Hope it's just a loose bolt again,
Todd

I thought twinturbo was hearing something from the back as well. Has the noise always been there ?

Wow...I really wanted these things to be the real deal for a good price. I am beginning to think they are rolling disasters.

Hey Nepatsfan,

I feel the same, but let's see if they have the performance they claim when they go up to NH. If they do, then getting past the start up pains shouldn't be that horrible.

I don't think anyone has described design features that really rules out them turning this into a very viable machine.

Todd

Gordon and I have been playing phone and email tag. I'm sure he is busy as I am too. I hope we can get this to happen. I am currently looking for one property with a variety of conditions. Also talking with my local dealer and scag rep to get several different mowers in this shoot out besides my own. Have had some interest from BOP as well to get involved. Just hope the lagistics all come together.
