New Grandstand 36
Bought the 36" Grandstand. Mowed two days with it and I am very pleased with it so far.
The cut is great. It handles well. Definitely the best mower Ive owned.

do you have a mulch kit, or a operator control discharge door on the deck.

No, I didnt get it for now. It was another $250 or so for that option. I think I would use the OCD but not the mulch kit.

How are the reverse controls? I am curious being that your 36" is built on the compact frame. My 48" has poor reverse controls, unequal in strength and anemic at best. It is almost as if there is no POSITIVE reverse compared to moving forward which is very strong. Thank you.

Reverse is unequal in strength. It hasnt been an issue for me because the only reverse mowing I do is backing up to turn around, backing off a trailer, or short distances in small tight spots.

Reverse is not surposed to be equal. Every Toro I have owned reverse is no where near what forward is.

can't be right
To clarify, the inequality am referring-to is in reverse and between the right and left power systems (I am not comparing forward to reverse). I am not looking for the reverse speed to be fast, just equal - left-to-right - so I can safely back the unit down ramps and in some mowing situations where I have a biased left-right turn capability I can get out of my own way. my right drive system in reverse is very weak compared to my left. If Toro or my dealer would make the same statement that you just did above I could accept it and move on, but I am getting a lot of blank stares and abbreviated conversation. My dealer is a MASTER SERVICE DEALER...maybe the problem is that I need to find a MASTER SERVICE DEALER OF THE YEAR AWARD RECIPIENT, that sounds much more impressive, right?!?!?

Would you buy another 36" GS? Any complains so far? How much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking.

The mower cost $5,900. Out the door with sales tax it was $6400. Overall, the mower handles great, cuts a pretty lawn, and gets in lots of tight spots.
