Thought I'd post a picture of me pulling my Bush Hog tractor. It's got an 8hp B&S hopped upto 10hp and runs on 115 octane Turbo Blue racing fuel, which you don't wanna put in your mowers because it's some wicked stuff let me tell you..... plus it's $3.99 a gallon!!! I place it in the stock 12hp/1,000lb maximum class, 98% Cub Cadets with 12hp Kohler's hopped upto 14hp. Our transfer sled weighs about 8,000 lbs. My rear tires are 23x8.50x12 Carlisle Power Trac. Oh yea my tractor is belt drive not disc clutch like Cub Cadets. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it is just as strong as a Cub...
Questions anyone?
Boy, that brings back some good memories. I used to pull with our Allis Chalmers D14 at local county fairs. We always had a lot of fun, even if we did not win anything. That D14 could really pull. It had a hi-lo range lever that was great for pulling. Pick a gear and get sled moving in lo. Then you could slam it into high and really get rolling. When she started to bog, yank it back to lo and get a few more yards. Gosh, I miss those days.
This has a Vari-Drive, which is a variable speed pulley. It works good for changing speeds on the go and does not slip either. It is upto 4,000 rpm's through the governor (class rules). Going through the chrome 2.5" diameter straight pipe, and with the 115 octane racing fuel, it sounds real good! Different than the Kohlers, but I like it. I like to be different. I'd rather pull this than a Cub just cause everyone else is running cubs. I wouldn't mind having a Kohler though...
It is alot of fun to do. No it's not a family thing, I'm the only one who does it I got into it myself my dad isn't into it. He takes me to them and watches though, but he keeps his hands to himself

Those are pretty good transmissions. The transmission on my old Jacobsen is a friction drive, which slips something terrible after being hosed off. Once you start going, the friction heats up and burns the water off. It's on it's last leg now, doesn't go like it used to like it did 8 years ago!:blob3:

65Hoss, some of them have 10's of thousands in their pullers. Not in the stock class i'm in though, this is the 'recreational' league lol. Those guys are in the Big Stock and Pro Stock class, which is very competitive. Here is a picture I took today, with wheel weights and weight box on front for small weights that I made. Saturday I'll see if I can do better than last time
