Fleet tracking software?

Has anybody here tried fleet tracking software. We are considering installing either a fleetmatics system or teletrac system in all of our trucks. The main issue we are having is that some of our trucks travel all over new england, and the standard gps systems are not cutting it. They constantly send us down roads our trucks can't fit on, or roads that have low overhead clearance. At the same time it would be nice to track where all the vehicles are at the same time and use some of the other tools the software offers. Does anybody have any experience with either company?

tracking services offered from ATT

We use the location tracking services offered from ATT. http://www.wireless.att.com/business...d-services.jsp

We use these services because they are both GPS based and cell based. A worker does not even need a GPS enabled phone for the locating to work. Also it is a web based hosted solution so there is no need for any hardware or software install (other than having a cell phone).

have you looked into telogis? they have a fleet product that offers routing using road restrictions based on a vehicles weight, height etc.

they also have other products that link with fleet management to let you dispatch the closest capable driver to a job, plan and book repeat jobs in advance (and even calculate if its worth taking on a new job) and optimize routing across the whole fleet. its great for businesses that have multiple stops throughout the day like lawn care or pest control etc.

check out http://www.telogis.com/solutions/fleet/ or just google fleet management software
