48 Inch Hustler Sport

I have a new 48 Hustler Sport ZTR. The cut isn't very good. Lots of stragglers and lots of clumps. Any Ideas on rigging the deck or changing blades?

Thanks

I have the same mower with the Honda engine but I have the mulching kit. I don't have the same problem (so far...)

Check deck level and pitch. What type of grass are you cutting and how much are you cutting off?

Thanks for the replies. Just got it this summer. Haven't touched the deck yet. Does this deck cut better level or lower in back or front? Cutting fescue here in East TN. It has the Honda engine. Really bogs down with wet grass.

1st of all if you have a mulching kit make sure you are using actual mulching blades.
2nd if you are side discharging make sure your blades are the right ones for that.
Make sure the deck is set to the correct forward pitch.
Make sure the blades are on right.
Make sure there are the right amount of spacers above the blade (which will lower them in the deck) and give you the best quality cut.
Read your manual about cut quality. If it is leaving stragglers and clumps there is def something wrong
