AK Lawn and Garden

I plan on using this thread to document the projects I work on. All comments and critiques are welcome. I want to be better.

I'm new to this site and the business in general so I don't have a lot of pics to share yet.

I will start off with my house. I moved in 3 months ago and the yard was rough looking. I fed the grass a little with chicken manure and ironite and it greened up pretty well. I removed 3 lavender plants that were taking over the beds and replaced them with a few palms (sagos and a washingtonia). The photinias were out of control so I had to cut them back some and I replaced one with a hybrid tea rose. The jasmine and crape myrtle responded well to a little food and regular water and began blooming just a month ago.

I'll try to get before and after shots of a job I'm doing tomorrow and post them here.

Awesome work man. Do you water a lot in California? Irrigation system installed? Figured you guys would need a lot of water over there. Especially to keep it looking that nice.

It's a fescue blend called ElitePlus. You can check it out here http://www.agsod.com/Products/

Yeah we have to use a good amount of water to keep the grass green here in the Central San Joaquin Valley. We have a solid month of 100 degree weather and we are lucky to get a foot of rain in a year. It used to be that people would run their sprinklers everyday during the summer but now thats changing. Most cities in our area have installed water meters and designated specific days and times for watering so there is real incentive to install irrigation systems that are efficient. The front is watered with 3" popups in the lawn and drip lines running to all plant material in the beds. The back lawn is water with rotors.

How much would a lawn like that front and back cost to mow in California?
