weekend trip- quads, beer, food and big iron!

went down to wayne national forest in ohio for some riding and camping, basically all the vacation we have time for. snapped a bunch of pics of Kokosing (huge construction company here in ohio) working on the re diversion of Rt. 33.

trailer loaded up and ready to go:









keg of yeungling beer, only brewed in PA, couple of our buddies went to go get it.


forestry service k9 unit stopped by, cool guys, said they have alot of problems with the mexican gangs growing the ganj in the park


and here is the big iron:
hitachi 500 hiwalker
2x cat d9's
2 cat d8's
a cat d6
3 cat 777 haul trucks
3 komatsu 785hd haul trucks
2x komatsu pc2000's
1 komatsu pc1000
a few pc200 and 300's
deere 850d dozer
couple wheel loaders and sheepfoot compactors
some pans and jd ag tractors pulling them.

we didnt go into any of the cabs, my one buddy just climbed up to the platform, i dont even know if they were locked or not.

help yourself chris!

prior to this, the largest ex ive ever seen was a pc600 "trying" to work in the middle of a busy 4 lane street, he was trying to turn around, went one way, stick was gonna hit a pole then turned opposite and almost hit the pole on the other side, pretty funny sight!

Ah, southern Ohio, God's country. I love it there. I grew up in Marietta, and still miss that place.
Looks like the leaves are getting some nice colors.

we sometimes go catfishing on the muskingum in marietta, right by the last lock before virginia, i cant remember what number it is.

The last lock on the river, before you get to the Ohio river, is the lock at Devola. Lock #2, Devols Dam.
Lock #1 was right in Marietta, but it was removed many years ago, when the normal pool stage was raised in all the pools up and down the Ohio River.
There is some good fishing in the Muskingum River.
BTW: My Grandfather's farm, northeast of Marietta, became part of the Wayne National forect acerage back in the late 1950's.
