Why completely encircle the Skimmers with concrete? Seems like an unnecessary expense.

Here we start building the water feature for the koi pond.

While building this pond I decided to make the water feature even more dramatic. I was now going to have the weir and this other feature combined to all flow into the lower pond. So I extended the weir to the other side of the feature.

Water will flow into 2 levels of this feature - the highest and then the one with the small planter circle in it.

That is a good question. Right now I can't tell you why. Probably not necessary. I looked back at the instructions and didn't see it done there. There will be some things I do different on our next pond.

This client evidently has some deeeeeep pockets. Considering the economy, must be a Financial professional or a Doctor.

I am sure that will look impressive when done. That client must be loaded to spend that type of money on a pond

Stoning the weir:

There was really no way of getting a crane back to this pond so the only way to get these small boulders under the weir was to walk the length of the pond with them. For the largest boulders we had 4 guys and a plank we designed out of 2x4s to haul the stone.

They didn't believe we were swimming until I jumped in. Once I did that they were game. It was farely chilly that day too.
