I spoke with a dealer today, he said the gas trucks get 7-11mph and diesel trucks get 9-15mpg.

He also said some guys get 300k with the gas 6.0.

What do you guys think?

I'm for diesel all the way. I'm eager to see what the fuel mileage will be when I buy one.

I already have a gas box truck, Ford E350 w/ 5.4L and it has horrible fuel mileage.

I'd love to have a truck that gets 14-15 mpg when loaded with all my light equipment.

Well, he was a salesman.

I would love to get 14-15mpg also, sure would beat the 9mpg I'm getting now with my Dodge 6.7 pulling an enclosed trailer.

Thanks for the links on the other thread. Here is one I found on one of those links. I like everything about it except the price.

I have talked to them on the phone and they will custom build whatever you want and ship it to you.

I really like this one, I think someone may have posted a pic of one somewhat like it.

Seems like it would be better than having a dovetail hanging 2 or 4' off the back.

I really like those but they are hard to find used. A local lawn shop has one that they use for a service truck.

These guys will make one for about 5-6k, I think, that's just the box. I don't see any pics on their site but I called and they said they can build one with the dovetail in the box.

http://www.conyerscorp.com/dovetail.htm

I found this truck for $11k, 04 GMC, gas, 110k miles, 16' box with 4' dovetail and ramp.

Looks like a good deal to me, what do you guys think? Anyone know anything about this place?
