What's strange, is that the code varies from State to State, even though we're supposed to be complying with uncle sugar's "Clean Water Act". AVBs are referred to, up here, as a "device", which means they cannot be tested, and are not approved for new construction (like anyone pulls a permit). A "approved assembly" generally indicates a DCVA or RPBA, PVAs are frowned on. Mitch might chime in as to current regs in WA, but it's weird every purveyor can set their own regs (and ignore them, as we've seen).
