yes and no, it is the same concept as a snorkle but it goes directly into the itake just as though the normal intake of a car goes into the fender wheel well or under the bumper. it is for water proofing though just as a snorkle is.

No all h1s have it the militarys and some cevilian h1s are more prominant as they are built to go trough higher water without flooding the enginse out, but all h1s have them,

I know the pump trucks they use to clean out sewers are similarly setup and no one is pulling them over. Not sure why that would be legal and this wouldn't be, unless its a license issue.
I like it. Better than taking the trailer off or setting it up in the back.
