while I have no idea on value, it is 15 years old, small deck...... The dealer is taking a risk on buying something that may sit on his lot and not sell. unknown hidden repairs, ect...

I doubt I'd spend any more than a 1000 bucks private sale on the machine...

It'll have to be someone closer than you so they can go look at it before hand ... that way, they'll know exactly what it's worth after they have seen it !!

I don't have to see it. to know what I'd spend on it.. Its a 15 year old walker... yeah its got low hours. but they are pricey to fix. and a PITA to work on...

i totally disagree with every statement that you've made so far. thinks might be different in DC but here that's a mower in high demand.

I've owned three walkers. I love em to death.. other than a reel mower cut quality is second to none

but no way Id spend more than 1000 bucks on a 15 year old walker. a diesel to boot with a 36" deck.. and if I was a dealer I might consider 500 bucks on a trade for a new one...

You disagree that they are expensive to work on?, you Disagree that they are a pain to work on?

Nothing is easy to access.
Walker is very proud of their parts prices which are very unique. IE nothing off the shelf from any other mower will work...
@1200 hours you need start thinking about gear boxes, GHS impeller, belts, ect...

typical. come in and ask for an opinion and then shoot the messenger when you don't like what you hear.

if its such a great machine. stick it to dealer sell it yourself and pocket the extra money then...

Just a guess, my dealer here would probably swap a used 42" or 48" deck onto it and put it for sale around $3,000+ No lie.
As far as trade value, I guess that depends on your region. I'd say $1,500 would be the least I'd take on trade.
