Hustler Sports 42" or 48. How much did you pay?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a ztr for 1+ acre for my new home. I have never owned one but seems that alot of the people on here are happy about their hustler sport. Unlike other brands, hustler doesn't list their prices online. I will be making a trip to the local dealer and want to have some prior knowledge. How much should this cost me (i've read some paid around 3-3.5k)? So, how much did you pay for yours (please mention engine brand)? I greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

This should be a good start for you:
http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=268768

Starting prices are listed along with extras (hour meter, mulch kit, etc). I bought the Sport 42 with a Honda engine. I bought the hour meter, mulch kit, Gator blades and upgraded my seat.

Good luck.....

thanks, just as i finished posting i ran into that same hustler thread. so now that i know the msrp, is buying a mower the same as buying a car? meaning you should never pay msrp? Would the dealer laugh at my face if I offer less than msrp? I've always bought from big box stores and only push mowers so this is a whole new ball game. How much did you pay otd for all of those extras? Anyone else? I know there are at least 4 or 5 others that bought the sport within the past 6-7 mos.

Fyi, i just mowed my lawn today using a honda self propelled mower and man did it took forever. Almost 4 hrs. Talk about pain in the texas heat! I am ready for a riding mower.

well, i don't mind paying the normal price. I just don't want to get rip off. As in, the dealer adding on extra costs such as freight. One cub cadet dealer, did not have the mower in stock so he said he will have to charge me 5% freight. but he will prep and deliver to my house without any additional cost. Does this sound correct or just a gimmick?

The other dealer that i checked out, toro, did not ask for any 5% freight. Hopefully one more trip to the hustler dealer will help me decide. Thanks.

That freight is BS, I have seen it on other things. I am sure it is added in on everything we buy whether or not it is itemized or not. It would not be a deal breaker for me, but I would fight it.
