I have one for my biz as well as personal. The business one I forget to update much, lol. I think if you advertised that you have one and fill it with lots of pics of your work and update once a week or so with information or tips, kind-of like an online newsletter you could use it in a positive way for your business. It's free and literally only takes a few minutes to set up the account. Most everyone has a camera on their phone so its quick and easy to take shots of work you are proud of and send it directly to the page.

Will it get you any real new customer leads? Well I guess it depends on who "likes" your page. Make sure its visible to everyone, not just your friends then suggest all your local friends like it... Their friends see it, then their friends... I got busy and just never messed with it after the first month or so, but I did have a few inquiries about bids! I'd also post things like "Too wet to mow today, can't believe there's some guys out rutting up lawns in these conditions!" And got positive feedback from people that were impressed that there IS companies out there that do care about more than just cranking out the lawns to collect the money.

I'd say give it a shot. The evenings are long now, plenty of free time to play around with it!

The problem with your page is that you have to be a Facebook member to view it. Ours is open to the general public.

How were you able to do that? I went thru the procedure laid out by Facebook on setting up a business page.

Did some research on Facebook. It seems that one is not able to have a separate business account if they already have a Facebook page, which I have. However, as I understand it, once I get 25 friends, I can get a Vanity URL which will bypass the log=in requirement. I also read that, if you DO have a stand-alone business account, you will not be listed in any search results on Facebook which, if true, kinda sucks.

I started the business FB page from my personal account. I then also changed the vanity name to the business name. What I did not know was that it would change my personal FB to the business name.

Why it is important to have your FB page open like ours is that you can put a "like" button on your web page and people can click it to see what you've got without being a member of FB. Right now in order for me to see your FB page I have to log into FB.

This is quoted directly from Facebook.

"Pages will be publicly viewable, so people searching for a particular artist or company on the World Wide Web will find the Pageís Facebook presence and be able to view that Pageís photo and basic information. In order to view a Page in its entirety, Like a Page, and engage with a Page, the individual must join Facebook"

I already have the Like link with the stream on my website.

But the difference is that I have to log in to see your page and ours is public. You don't have to log in. However, to "Like" us you have to have a FB account.
