Cat 308d sb

My new 308D SB has spent more time at CAT than with me. They found a fix for tracking power, which it had none, now it pushes like a dozer. It will not swing a bucket full of material up a grade and runs out of hydraulic flow when multi functioning. They replaced the swing motor not any better. Dealer just got 2 new machines in with the same issue. Do I really need to bench it in on a level pad in order to work? Nobody use their machines on a slope? Any body else with 308 issues.

Tell the techies to look at the switches for the travel function that divide oil flow for the travel and boom functions.

Hey Thanks for the reply. I had to make some noise, when I did next thing that happens is I get 4 CAT guys at my shop, Sales, Service Manager, NE CAT Trouble Shooter and East Coast CAT Rep. They showed me a movie of how proud they were of the travel circuit fix?? A Movie? Come on, should have never been put out there for a customer to buy. Like I said it pushes like a dozer now. Cann't say enough about CAT Service, second to none. I should be able to curl the bucket, bring in the stick, lift the boom and swing out of the hole with out the machine going into slow motion or just stopping.
Sorta of tired of excusses after buying 115K machine.

Riddle me this what makes CAT service second to none? Is it their willingness to un%uck a machine that shouldn't be %ucked up to start with. Is it the fact that they are willing to bring everyone with a title to your shop in order to tell you how cool they are, and the most important part is reaffirming to you how cool you are for running CAT? This is all for a reason. Hoping like hell you don't park a 308 in their ass. Second to none? I think your kidding yourself.

That price is about right for a 308. They are going for 105k for a used 2009 308 on machinery trader.

My Dad got the same price of $115,000 back in 2008 for a 308DCR and 2 buckets and thumb.
You just need to stay on top of Cat's people, my brother did with his 305CCR and it got fixed, 6 months later.

Who are you to call them junk? All you do is talk about buying machines and then you don't do it. All talk.

Caterpillar ain't all junk, Mitsubishi builds their mini excavators and Cat pretty much builds everything else, not like god damn Deere that stamps their name on everything they don't build.
Cat still makes the best and longest lasting loaders, excavators and bulldozers.
