In my town the commercial bids are usually done in early spring and a lot of companies put ads in the paper as the to the times bids are accepted. Also they may have a bid package to pick up that spells out what needs to be mowed and everything else to be done and at what times. Call the companies and ask them, that is what I have done and they will tell you when it is time to bid. Hope this helps.

Drop it off in person, Try to look your best, Not like your going to work. call ahead of time to see if your contaic is going to be avaiable, if so invite him/her out to lunch, if they cant make lunch, find out when they can.

Durring lunch, only talk about your Business, NOT your family, the weather, and such.
present yourself as professional as possable.
right after ordering present the bid. Let then know there will be extras, ALWAYS And I MEAN ALWAYS sell to your customers.

right before the meal is over ask for the job, If they say were looking at a few others. ask them to give you a chance to respond to others offers before making the final decission,

also ask if they have any friends/assot's that may need your service.
