Self Leveling Buckets?

Does any regular operator use this feature? I find it extremely annoying when I'm loading trucks with this feature. I'm finally comfortable with joystick directional control but the self leveling bucket screws the whole motion up.

Another feature I really dont understand is loader float and its use. Some people consider mandatory for say snowplowing but I've never used or seen a need for it. Travel float I've used and seen a need for but I think this feature isnt even around anymore . Anyways I'm not saying float is bad I use it for quik backdragging in dirt but dont really understand the need for snowplowing.

I miss the bucket levelling switch on my Cat, having an automatic system is PITA for ack hmmers where you are always lifting the loader up and down, as well as it robs some loader lifting power away.

I hate the self leveling feature. I took it off both of my L48 loaders. OK for fork use, but not dirt work.

I absolutely hate the self leveling, find it very annoying. To be honest I don't use the float feature either.

Wait until a new or distracted operator lifts the bucket all the way up with dirt and dumps it all over the machine or big rocks, pieces of concrete and breaks his legs or damages the machine. I find that it happens when someone is operating in a tight space or around obstacles like traffic or people where they get distracted. I hate not being able to turn it off on our deeres like our cats but I order all machines with it. We load trucks most of the time so being able to have one less movement to control is nice.

They doing it electro-hydrualically now or something?

Have used several machines that did it mechanically or hydraulically and never had a problem with the self leveling.

I've seen people destroy exhausts on backhoes and fill the skids with material. Point is they shouldnt of been in the equipment to begin with. Even worse is someone gets used to a auto leveler then drops some concrete in the cab when he doesnt have the feature. Just me but even tell people to not use it.

The JCB backhoe I was the operator on has a self leveling bucket I liked the feature I used it all the time. To get it to work you had to bump the stick towards your leg and the bucket self leveled.

Used the float all the time back dragging the haul road we were using.

How does a self leveling bucket actually work? I have heard about them but never knew how they worked. Like whats the main purpose and how do they differ from a regular bucket of a self leveling bucket I guess is my question.
