Mowing is considered landscape maintenance (you need to learn how to spell). And if you do design & installs, let's see some design & install work!

As Ric has pointed out here. If you can gain the knowledge, experience and CPO cert. You have a license to steal. Highest profit margin, but you HAVE to do it correctly. For your original question, mowing helps keep you busy between installs and keep cash flow constant. Sometimes one leads to the other. I do many installs that lead to ongoing full service accounts. Why limit yourself?

Totally agree and understand. I had actually missed the "maintenance" in this post, and saw in another he had just gotten his books.

Thought he was saying he only wanted to do design & installation.

We seem to be moving into this area. It seems as the years go by, more and more people are seeking someone they can trust. sometimes it gets very costly.
one of our jobs was a retaining wall for a Hotel Chain. " Holiday Inn Express "

of corse we alos provided plants, soil, and the grass.
once you established your Suppliers you can do Quite well, as you should know employees are always an issue.
And then there's the deadline, YUCKO. this seems to be an issue.
there is always something that happens, ya cant get this or that by time expected.
when dealing with million dollar openings. you had better meet your deadline.
and then the overtime.

I take it you havent delt with this yet.

Best of luck
