belts
Pj,
The belts are cracking on my Bac-Vac unit, both of them.I have about 100 hours on the unit and have 4 cracked belts. I don't think they are too tight. Jim at Bacher's gave his approval. How tight is too tight? To me the belt dosen't seem flexable enough for where its used. Is there more than 1 belt size available for the Hustler Z? Belt #770404 was used on it at time of instalation and thats the one I have used for replacement. The new carb was installed today, sounds good, blades engaged without any stalling out. We will test it tomorrow. Gene |

That is the only belt we have ever used in that application.
I have not had any problems on any demo units I have had, but I dont put as many hours on my units as you do on yours. I find that if you tension the spring til there is about a 3/16 gap in the spring coils, it is tight enough. Also check your pivot point that that idler runs on, make sure it loose enough. Hope this helps Pj
