Grass only germinates well 2 time in the season here in Ontario. Spring and fall. (unless you hav irrigation). Throwing seed down in the summer (late june to september) is useless.

Vote Conservative this election.

Propane is not the answer.

first tillage stage plants are more suseptable to herbicides, however wacking a mature plant down is a different story and counterproductive. You would want more foliage area to absorb the herbicide not less. Most herbicide labels recommend NOT mowing prior to herbicide applications 48 hours before or after application.
