Yeah, Uhaul seems to be the best bet for me, since I'm not likely to put on more than about 20-30 miles/day. (59 cents/mile)

I'm planning on eventually replacing the wife's Cavalier with a small SUV that can do double duty pulling my small trailer in a pinch. Unfortunately, that isn't happening any time soon, so this is where I am.

I did manage to get the mower in the trunk tonight, but decided against it for working. I'll end up burning myself on the muffler, or hurting my back, and although the car is a '97, it's still in like-new condition for the most part and I have no desire to have it smelling like grass and gasoline.

There are people dealing with much, much bigger issues in their lives. I can survive a small setback like this.

Crisis averted. No rental required.

They couldn't look at it until after lunch, but he called and said I could pick it up. The part won't be in until Monday, but they did a temporary fix so I could at least use my truck until it gets the part replaced.

I didn't catch what the part was called, but it's the part that comes out of the transmission that the shifter cable attaches to. It had rusted and the cable popped off, so they wired it together for me and I was able to start my first lawn at 3pm today. I got 4 cuts done and did the two estimates I couldn't get to yesterday.

The bast part of the day was when I asked what I was looking at for the repair total once the part comes in. "Oh, it will be under $100", he said.

(happy dance)

Not only will it be a cheap fix, but you gotta love the garage that gets you back on the road and doesn't charge you for doing it.

hey fellas watch out the cops are out to get us. I had a cop stop me today to check the trailer and one of my buddies got stopped yesterday. make sure your straps are down and your lights/break away systems work.

Good to know man, have an issue on my brake lights I need to get sorted out. Is it true they look for 2 straps on everything? I usually only put one on everything.
