MR 11 LEDs?

Haven't seen many, but doing a Google search gave me a Philips and a Halco. The other brands are ones I've never heard of. Both seem to be a cool white (the Halco is 5600K.) Both run about $20 t0 $30.

Looking for an MR 11 in a warm white and wonder why they don't show up? Does the phosphor that gives an LED the warmer color not hold up in the smaller space of an MR 11 fixture because of heat or something?

Thinking of using them with FX MPs. One client has lots of these around the yard on small palms, bamboos, statuary put in by a previous landscaper...

Thanks. I'll check those out.

Found one online that says it uses a Cree chip and at 2750K puts out 90 lumens. Under $10 and a 2 year warranty.

I have replaced all of my Unique ligting fixtures in my front yard with drop-in LED lamps from Brilliance. And I had 4 few MP20s from FX Luminaire too in my yard, highlighting my water feature. Just because they are smaller and I've always loved the MP20s from FX.

So we recently purchased 4 of the MR11s from Brilliance and put them into those MP20s. They look great!

I also replaced my can lights (PAR 36) with the Brilliance PAR 36 LED lamps and those actually look really nice too!

I'm impressed with the color temperature on all of the Brilliance line. I just did a few at first, and if you stepped back and looked at my house you honestly couldn't tell which ones I had replaced with LED and which were still halogen. So I just continued on and replaced them all. My house and landscape lighting still looks the same as it ever did, except now I'm saving a lot of money in energy and using only 1/3 of the 900w transformer that used to be maxed out.

They're spendy. But I'm impressed with their lamps. We're starting to do retrofits with this line now.

I believe I remember the fx as having a floating socket, so you should be ok, but remember many LED retrofits like the above are longer than regular halogen. some quite a bit longer.
