Exmark Turf Tracer
I have an older Turf Tracer that will not start with the turn key. If I turn it from off to on i can hear what sounds like the fuel pump click but then if i turn it to start nothing happens. I can put a metal bar across the solenoid and start it right up. A friend said it was the ignition but when i put a new ignition on it, i blew one of the #20 fuses. What would cause the new ignition to blow the fuse? Should i try replacing the solenoid next? Thank you in advance for any advice!

Probably installed the wrong ignition switch
The fuse holders or the solenoid are the usual suspects for your original problem. Also check youe safeties. The solenoid has 2 small wires on it ....1 is positive power from the ignition switch, the other is the negative that comes thru to the solenoid when the safety switches are in the neutral position. |

Exmark Turf Tracer
The safety indeed does not work. The mower will stay on with the safety levers up/free. So would this mean that my safety switch needs replacing, or would the safety lever not work due to a bad solenoid? Thanks again for any help!
