Our shop just started using it and sea foam goes to the back of the line. I am a buyer. I put two carb in ultrasound cleaners with the stuff and they came out and worked. I had taken them apart and cleaned them with carb clearner and put them in the machines and still had problems. Ran them thru that stuff for 2 hours put them on and whal they worked. I ordered the stuff and the ultrasonic cleaner. I watched the mechanic do the water absorption test and it was the only one that held water in suspension for half a day. Sea foam failed that test big time. But time will tell it sure looks good for dealing with water.

I'm going to side with those in favor. If anyone was at GIE and went by their booth you may reconsider. We've used this stuff for a number of years now (happen to know the guy who developed this and still have bottles around the shop from his trail batches). It is legitimate chemistry, but no cure all. Ethanol shield is a fuel additive that chemically bonds with water and stabilized fuel. Mechanic in a bottle is pretty much the name says. Most of your 'stabilizers' and these cure-alls are ether or kerosene derivatives... M.I.B. isn't going to bring to life that mower that been outside for 3 years, but we've had good success with people using it in machines that have been sitting for a period of 6-8 months. It has to sit in carburetor and 'soak' as the directions describe. I'd recommend it.

If you"re gonna use this stuff anyway.....Might as well make your own...
Get some concentrated denatured alcohol and some blue food coloring,
(yellow or green if you think some other color has better results)
I dont know the guys who make this stuff, so Im not biased.....
Its all SNAKE OIL.............

I just dont have alot of issues with fuel. And the issues I do have are year(or more) old fuel or other owner related problems.

Went to the same update this year. Some of the mechanics there were raving about either this product or one of the other ones made by the same company. They use it on the cheap weadwackers and stuff that come in for repair. Either just running it through or taking the carb off and soaking the carb in it. I guess one of them really does rejuvenate the diaphragms a bit.

I still have that bottle laying around and have yet to try it LOL.

That is my point exactly. When you guy buy Startron your buying dyed alcohol. Have you ever tried any of it?

That is my point exactly. When you guy buy Startron your buying dyed alcohol. Have you ever tried any B3C products? It isn't just an alcohol based if it burns hotter it'll fire kinda deal. I understand why you would think my opinion is biased, but I know a few guys who have invented or marketed landscaping/engine oriented products that I certainly wouldn't recommend. People who have used the product liked it, I've seen it work, and I recommend at least trying it.

After the initial absortion of water and the temporary slightly higher flammability,
Some units that wouldn't run.......Do run..
Once they have witnessed this miracle (hocus pocus), you have the sucker sold.

Sorry for rant, I've seen too many WONDER LIQUIDS in my life to give even a thought. Motor-up, fuel-up, steel-seal, teflon .... blah blah. Even those that help a little (seafoam) are too expensive in my book.

I agree...same goes for Seafoam...peoria thinks its great because it's expensive and comes in a metal container...the marketing experts achieved exactly what they wanted!
