I do and get a few jobs out of the paper but if you haven't got it by june you probably won't get much after june 1st tho.

I think its a waste back in the 90s when my dad had hes businesses he put one in the papper he said he didnt get no calls.

And i look in there the other day and there was 7 in the papper.

the newspaper is the only advertising i do. i run a 12 month ad. changing the wording from time to time for the different parts of the season.

i average 2 calls a week through the whole year.

i've talked to guys who were stopping there yellow pages ad because they weren't seeing results.

the last time i passed out flyers (2 years ago) i passed out 500 and only got 1 call. i said forget that. 500 flyers and only 1 call. not worth it to me.

yeah i tried flyers...put out about 500 and got 2 calls but they were one time only customers...not really what i'm looking for....my brother and his friend cut grass one summer a long time ago by putting ad in the paper and they had more work than they could do all summer long lol...wish it still worked that way...the only thing that really seems to work around here is word of mouth...everything else is hit and miss

Which paper were you looking at? In Knoxville there are serveral but The Farragut Press is what I'm looking at using.

there are at least 2 dozen lawn maintenance ads in my paper. but i still get at least 1 call a week every week from march until november.

this is the first year i'm doing a 12 month ad. gonna start advertising for snow removal since i bought a snow plow for my truck earlier this winter.

Just signed up today, I got a color ad in the paper over the next 4 weeks and a half page in a special Spring magazine publication that goes with the paper and a half page business write up in the magazine. This all came out to be less than doing one round of 5,000 postcards and the paper hits 16,325 homes a week with a good following. I think I will keep a smaller ad in the back of the paper after this runs out to help pack my routes tighter.
