Congratulations to AOLP 2011 C.O.L.D. graduates
HARRISBURG, PA- Earlier this month, the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals (AOLP) hosted its 2011 Annual Conference & Expo in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conference featured two certification training sessions, as well as numerous educational speakers and seminars. On Thursday, February 3, 2011, AOLP held its annual awards banquet to honor professional excellence in outdoor lighting design. One of the highlights during the banquet was the graduation ceremony for the very first class of Certified Outdoor Lighting Designers (COLD).
The COLD program is an advanced level of specialized training in landscape lighting design. It is the only certification program of its kind currently being offered in the industry. Participants spend four years in the program developing their lighting expertise and building on a series of fundamental principles that are universally acknowledged to form the basis of "good and responsible" lighting design. During the program, lighting designers engage in peer group studies, in depth project observation, professional seminars and personal growth projects in order to analyze and better their work. The primary goal of the program is to promote design excellence, while allowing for the development of an individual's own lighting design style.
