I can name an excellent company in your area, Groundscapes express, John and Butchy, they take composting very seriously

my favorite source in my area was closed down this year due to water contamination of a river abutting their piles.

they are in Wrentham tel. 508-384-7140

They are SFI and NOFA accredited, they do a lot of work in and around the boston area so delivery should not be an issue

NYC area of course Peter Schmidt of compostwerks, also take composting very seriously

Bit far, I am actually up on the New Hampshire border, I live in Haverhill now. Left Boston a few years back.

I find it hard to believe that the only member who has suggestions on where to find good quality compost in Massachusetts, lives and works in Maryland.

Finding a good compost supply is one of the biggest challenges of using compost.

In NJ, one company set up their site to receive waste food products to add to yard waste for compost manufacturing. They did such a poor job of containing leach-ate and odor that the State shut them down and made it hard for other composting facilities. More recently, another composting company that had major financing behind them filed for bankruptcy and shut down in NJ.

Compost is a great thing, if you can get it.

It's funny. Companies that do organic lawn treatment are few and far between here and yet there are three sources of excellent compost from 50-75 miles from me.

And then again you're willing to travel 50-75 miles.
