hey guys, doing this for almost 20 years i have used my share of headsets, i can across probably the best i ever had both in construction and volume.
last year i was at the NHRA national hear in englishtown and came across the Racing Electronics trailor and asked if they made a AM/FM headset. well they whipped out a kickass headset, stainless frame, tons of pading and came w/ a cable that you can plug anything into. the reception was the best ever, and super clear. also the is so loud that when wear mulching i can hang them on the wheelbarrow handle and listen easily. absolute great product, will never buy any other, i think they were about $70. good luck |

My crew and I wear foam ear plugs (harbor freight the cheapest Ive found - big box of 200 pair for about $20). But in winter I wear EX-29 extreme isolation heaphones hooked up to my ipod. From what Ive heard these were design for studio drummers, but they work for me in any case. Ive tried wearing these in the summer but just too dang hot, starts to cook my ears because there is no air flow and they cover the entire ear. These are passive sound blocking but like the name implies blocks out 39 dbls. I dont have to turn up my ipod very loud at all to hear it clearly.
And as an added bonus they work a lot like ear muffs keeping my ears from freezing during leaf cleanups. They run about $120. Been using them for about 4 winter seasons, last winter I broke part of the headphone ear piece clasp but for about $14 they will send you a replacement.

Earfuze.....Neat product.
1. I like them for talk/sports radio. 2. For music, the sound quality is horrible. 3. For noice blockage....They are OK. Overall.....I Like my "worktunes" better and am giving these a chance. I got a nice "Tilley" hat and can't wear my worktunes with the hat.

I use the Work Tunes as well and they are very good at reducing noise level, however, I don't use the radio feature to listen to music because it would just be trading the music noise for the mower noise ... in other words, why block out 25 decibals of mower noise for 25 decibals of music noise !!
