Shindaiwa T-27 Problem

I have an older Shindaiwa T-27 that gathers dust. I'm going to give it to someone. When it starts, the head is always spinning. If you force the head into the ground, it will stall the trimmer. Could this be the clutch? If so, how hard is it to replace?

If you choked a Smurf, what color would it turn?

I'd give my right hand , if I could be ambidextrous!

its the clutch. Very easy to change. Just basically pull all the plastic covers off the engine, then pull the engine off the shaft. The clutch will come out with the engine. Two bolts need removed (easy with air rachet) and thats about it. YOu can also do this without having to pull the throttle cable or anything off. Very easy to do, I have done lots!!! Make sure you look at the old clutch to see whcih way the arrows are pointing to see how the new one goes on. And make sure you get all the pieces of the spring out that is broke.

It might also be just a carb adjustment ??? without knowing the dtails cant say fro sure , but if the head spins while in idle , sounds like the idle is too high and needs to be turned down...also if it cuts out under load , could also be a carb problem.. maywant to tear down carb and clean it out real good first beofer wasting money on a part you dont need ???? But again without seeing and hearing the unit , cant say for sure , just some options..

there is no doubt its the clutch!!! I have been running the t-27's for about 10 years. Its easy to change and it will run stronger with a new one in. I have extra clutch's if you want one!!! I'll ship it to you.
