Seeding bermuda existing TTF lawn

I am planning on seeding my lawn with TransContinental Bermuda in the next week or so.

I was planning on renting a power/slit seeder and running it through the yard and then dropping the seed on a followup pass. There is existing TTF and BG in the yard but much of it is very thin and many dirt spots.

Is there anything wrong with this method. Any pointers or suggestions. I don't want to do a full kill so that is not an option.

thanks
