Aftermarket Bobcat 337 Drive Motor
I'm looking for a source to purchase a new drive motor for my Bobcat 337 mini-x. I tried a few places today that came up in a google search, and didn't have too much luck. Waiting on a few call-backs and to try my local hydraulic shop tomorrow. Dealer needs $5300 + tax for just the drive motor itself-no final drive.
If you experienced guys know of any good sources of hydraulic drive motors, please let me know. I'm willing to give anything a shot to try and save a few bucks. I haven't even been able to do any jobs with this machine yet. Just seem to keep pumping money into it.... Thanks. |

I saw the new ones that were on there. It seems like all of the units for sale have the drive motor and the planetary final drive unit together. The man I was dealing with at my local Bobcat dealer said that I could just replace the hydraulic motor and leave the rest in place. In my mind, that statement implied that the motor itself would be available by itself. So far all of the companies that have gotten back to me have only offered the whole assembly for around $4500.

Yes, thats where I'm at right now. Dropped off the whole mess at a local shop that was recommended to me. After a couple misleading conversations with the dealer, I think I'm going in the right direction now.

I guess I can forget about the rebuild. Hydraulic shop estimated $7500-$8000 to rebuild a $5300 drive motor....

Seems like way to much money for a small motor .
I was thinking 2000 tops . Its only a small motor . A friend of mine has the same EX with 5800 hrs and he rebuilt the drives himself . The hard part was getting the parts and matching them up . I like to keep my equipment new and trade every few years to stay in low hours . I bought a 435 last year with 400 hrs =]\ |
