If my "buddy" gave me that price and he was worth it then I would add another $1,500.00 and let him do all the work and still make money. But I take it he nor the OP knows what they may be doing. My stone guy is licensed, insured and a licensed contractor but besides that, I know the work he does so when he gives me a prices on stone work, I normally dont question it let alone mark his price down because I think he's too "high".
