Please stop me if this won't work!

I have regretfully allowed several patches of rough blugrass to develop along the edge of my lawn (fescue). Tomorrow I plan to rent a sodcutter and remove aproximately 500ft sq of turf and then reseed with the fescue. For small, individual spots in the rest of the lawn, I plan to hand pull, or invest in some sulfosuron and spot spray it from now on where the fescue can then crowd it out.

Will the po trivialis try to re-sprout where I cut the sod out? Will this plan work?

I would hit it all with Gly first, but I am worried about summmer and feel I need to get the seed down ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

If you cut it deep enough to get all the roots, you'll want to replace the lost soil.
