Sidewalk Edging

Hey all. I was curious what you all use to edge sidewalks. I have always used my line trimmer, but I got a new high end account that states they want nice crisp edges on sidewalks and driveways. What are my options that are not expensive? Thanks.

Stihl Stick Edger... FC90's are what we use and they are super nice. The key to a good edge though, is a good blade.

I use a trimmer for all my edges and once you get some practice you can make them perfectly straight.

There is no way I would be without a stick edger. To me there is a night and day difference in the appearance of ones done with a trimmer and ones done with a edger. Not trying to make anyone mad, that is just the way I feel.

1" wide edge? That's overkill. Most of my guys just use the trimmers but I like to see them edge with a stick edger at least once a month. Keeps the edges nice and clean.

Once an edge is established easy to maintain with string trimmer flipped on edge. I'm totally blown away very few here can edge here to save their lives. Lots of concave summer burned edges here. One of my major peeves in this industry.

Then again if customer wants what most provide [hack job lazy edgeing] why waste your time providing crisp squared up edges that takes more time....casting pearls before swine.

All my clients get proper edging if wanted or not.

People say they can do it with a trimmer. It will not look like a stick edger
I get alot jobs since I use a Edger. In my town Im the only one doing it with stick edger as of last year ,but started seeing ppl use them this yr so they are catching on.
