Mowing truck advice (Colorado)

I am switching my mowing rig to try to get rid of the trailer. I want to get rid of the bed and put a cage and ramp on my truck. Can anyone recommend a local (Denver metro area) welder that can manufacture this? I tried attaching one similar to what I am thinking. It was on this site from a few years ago.

Thanks in advance.

I realize this isn't the specific answer but I believe
what you're looking for is called a dovetail bed.

Yeah there is a website that sells everything you need I believe. The trimmer/blower/water cooler racks that will fit on the bed rails. Wouldn't you still be using the bed if you drive the mower up and into it?? What kind of truck you got?

I don't mean to be a wise guy but generally speaking money is no issue to folks whose trucks sport dovetail beds,
which is one of the main reasons why we don't see too many of those.

Put another way, a trailer is cheaper.
A lot cheaper.
A whole lot.
Even after you factor in the fuel mileage difference over the lifespan of a trailer which is like 10 or 20 years it's still a lot cheaper.

I'm telling you them kind of folks with them type of trucks, they're like made of money or something.
Honestly, and I'm just kind of guessing here, but I think a dovetail bed runs like 10 or 20 grand but at least 7 or 8.
And you might find one used for 5 or 6 but figure 1-2 thousand for installing it, and I mean you better pay cash.

No, I am not joking, it's way expensive.
Don't ask me why because I don't know.

jg

I didn't even consider that thanks for the link

I was wanting a whole bed. I contacted a welder today and it ran about $2500 (rough estimate, so I think the 10-20 grand would be a bit off. I have a Chevy silverado 1500 so I don't think weight would be much of an issue. I am really trying to remove the liability of a trailer. I don't always feel comfortable with my guys driving it around town so by doing this I would be buying peace of mind which is worth it! I have pictures of what I am looking for, I just need to figure out how to post them!
