homemade proslide wearplates?

Interested to know if anyone has tips for materials or methods to make these, novae asks $55 + shipping each, which I have been buying for years but looking for an alternative now.

Back when I worked for True Green, they would to this. I believe they used cold rolled steel, which I think they had cut from 1/4 inch 4 x 8 sheets. All I did was call one of the branchs, they would ship them to us.

Check around for a steel whole seller or fabricater and ask what they would charge to cut and bend a plate.

1/4" steel?!

Did you ever use these? What did they do to the turf?
Did you have to use some kind of beefier coils and gas springs?

I just bolted them on and out the door they went....True green did alot of strange stuff to save money
