CAT skid 236 value

My friend is trying to figure out how much his 1998 CAT 236 with 2800 hrs, new tires, and no known mechanical problems is worth. I haven't seen it in a few years but he says it's in good condition and just used on their ranch.

He's just looking for some value to start at. I was going to check Iron Planet but wasn't sure if those prices would be a little low because it's auction.. ?

IP's prices are close to private party prices on skid steers. Sometimes more.

I found a 10 yr. old Cat 246 with 50 original hours on it for a friend of mine. He scooped it up. Sold the bradco hoe that came with it...final price was $16,600.

Those older CAT machines are pretty much bullet-proof.

I bought mine from my cat dealer for 16k. Open rops, 500 hours 2004 model 236b. Hope this helps.
