I don't care if your neighbor is a pediatric neurologist, that has nothing to do with you. I know plenty of doctors myself.

My certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Interntional Trauma Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pediatric International Trauma Life Support (some), EMT-Basic Licensed, EMT-Specialist Certified, EMT-Paramedic Certified, Basic Life Support CPR and First Aid Instructor.

Like I said before I don't want to get in a pissing match with you. I tried to make my point simpler and explain it better and tried not to be a d***, but you apparently want to get into an argument.

wow, all those degrees. Impressive. But yet still find time to landscape? You must either suck at being a paramedic or suck at landscaping, or suck equally at both. Good day to you Sir.

Face cuts bleed bad. This winter I got a small cut high on my cheek from a branch. I was wearing goggles (I was skiing), so no eye damage. But I was sweating pretty hard from skiing woods, and it bled like crazy. It ran all down my face and neck, and spread all over because of the sweat. It looked really bad, like movie bad. All from a 1/4" little cut.

I had to take a shuttle bus back to the lodge, you should have seen the faces of the kids and moms when they saw all the blood!

Dude, lighten up. My brother-in-law has all those degrees too, but manages to work as the fire chief full time and teach diving rescue. I'll put a paramedic's advice on field trauma against your pediatric neurologist's any day, and know what, so will your neighbor. See, he's a medical doctor, just like me, and what we'd do, is call a nurse.

That said, my first aid kit, built up when I was rock climbing, contains strong tape, a hep lock in case someone gets a tension pneumo, some abdominal pads, kelly clamps, crazy glue ... and I kept instant cold packs in the truck. Not exactly Mayo approved LOL, but Brad is right. A lot of what is in those kits is designed for scraped knees and splinters.

That said, everyone should have a minor injury kit handy to clean out minor scrapes and cuts. But I'd put a gallon of distilled water, $0.87 at Walmart, some clean towels in a zip lock bag, and some duct tape in there too, and listen to the paramedic! If he says I'm wrong on that, I'm wrong.

Todd

Get a face shield. Go to your local welding supply and pick up a Jackson or Fibre-Metal face shield.

This is big for me. Weedeating without eye protection is a firing offense. No second chances.
