Is this a good model of Dixie Chopper?
Looking at a 2004 SP2800. never used commercially, has 640 hours on a fuel injected Kohler engine. It is a 72" deck. I have 10 acres that I mow. Should I stay away from this machine? He's asking $5500. I really wanted an exmark but can only find 60" models. Thanks!!

I think you will do just fine with that mower. There was some issues with the fuel injection, But when it works its fine.

Are dc drive pumps, etc usually reliable? What do I need to check for? I own a residential grade 50" zero turn, I know how to operate the zt mowers. Thanks for any tips.

Roughly, if this mower looks like a 600 hour mower, what is it worth? What to look for? Thanks!!

Personally, if it's taken care of, that is a decent price for a 72" Dixie. Hour wise they can top 1000+ easily.
Just like any zero turn, the ride will be a little rough, so hopefully the previous owner installed a suspension seat. If it's still rough, go get a set of flex/suspension forks for the front casters. I use a 60" classic on 2 acres and can have it mowed in 1.5 hours with the suspension kit on it.

The mower ran good, started good, etc. One thing that did concern me, is that it did not seem to go much faster than my home grade zero turn. I thought this model was supposed to be fairly fast.

I'm looking at a 2004 Dixie Chopper product catalog. The top speed listed for your model is 10 mph.
