Darn...Now my wife want ME to cut the lawn

I origianlly posted this in the wrong group so I'm now posting it here.

We have a lanscaper who is very nice but didn't start this year until May 1. Meanwhile the grass grew earlier here on LI and I mowed my 2/3 acre with my 21" Honda HRX217HXA. I like mowing my lawn, but I have a rental home that I mow as well. It takes me 1.5 hours to do the 2/3 acre. So what's the problem? Despite some issues with mowing thick water saturated grass (I mowed 2x a week during the initial growth spurt) my wife likes the cut of the HRX217HXA better than the cut of the standup mowers the landscaper uses and now she wants me to cut it all the time. (I'm getting too old for that) She contends that the landscaper's mower pulls and crushes grass where the turns are made and by the end of the season, it doesn't cut well, but instead leans all the grass over afetr it went by. (I suspect inadequate sharpening)
So, my question is for you experts, do you think it would be wise for me to invest in a wider mower to cut down my time? If so, what do you recommend as either a rider or walk behind? Will the weight of the wider machine cause the same problsm I had with the landscaper in the turns? Isuspect that I will hear that you just don't get as nice a cut with a wide (say 42-48") mower than with a narrow walk behind. What do you think?

Ask the landscaper to sharpen his blades regularly like a pro and you go
buy a case of beer and enjoy life.

Either that, or he uses your mower.
