Ford diesel dumps

Im looking at some low mileage dumps. One is a 08 350 6.4 diesel and the other is a 05 550 6.0, both 4x4 automatics. The 6.0 is about 6k cheaper and has only 19k miles. Which truck would you guys go with? I had a 07 3500 gmc and was hauling gravel and dirt just as much as I was hauling mulch. Which motor would be more reliable?

What happened to the 07 GMC? The 08 ford is basicly the same thing.
I do agree with you on the 6.0's..They would have to about give it to me..

If you are going to haul anything the 550 size is the only choice.

As for the 6.0, I went round and round and ended up with an 07. Some guys have had a lot of troubles and some love it. The 6.0 can be made fairly bulletproof. The 6.4 seems to be an odd duck and short lived, the resale from what I've seen is in the toilet - seems worse than the 6.0.

Anyway, I'm happy with my 07 550 if that helps any.

The 6.0's had their trouble.....no doubt, but it is the 6.4 you really want to stay away from. It seems that some got lemons early on with the 6.0 but ford had a couple recalls and it seems to be ok. We own two of them and they have been bullet proof. Not everyone has had the same luck though.
