Replacing a 27 Kohler Command w/Generac 33

So the other day as I was slowly plodding my way through acre after acre of over grown grass due two the previous 2 weeks of rain I was envisioning myself on some high powered mower just slashing through all that crap. So then I came home and started to do some research. I found a dealer on ebay selling Generac 33hp engines for $1499 w/ free shipping that will supposedly be a direct replacement for my Kohler Command 27. Has anyone done this kind of swap? How hard is it? This would be a winter project if I decide to go through w/it. My current engine runs just fine and is around 550 hours. Probably will be around 1000 at the end of the year. The hours that the extra 5hp would save me over the course of the year, or years of its supposed 3000 hour life would be really awesome and easily pay for the $1500 cost. Anyone done this?

The first one would be a Dixie Chopper x2703 ( I think thats the model) and if that works well I'd replace the one on my exmark as well.

Just my $.02 here, I have a 60" Dixie chopper with 27 HP Kohler and a 72" Dixie Chopper with 32 HP Generac. Even though the 72" is a bigger and heaver machine with a foot wider deck, it has tremendous more power than the 60". It seems like way more than 5HP difference to me. In fact, I plan to sell the Kohler powered mower and replace it with a 60" Dixie Chopper Extreme with a 32 or 33 HP Generac. The Generac 32 and 33 HP engines are bigger and use more gas, but they have so much more torque that in my opinion, it's an acceptable tradeoff.

Do you mean the big Generacs? Care to share more information about the issues?

I have two 33hp engines one has about 400hrs on it and the bottom crankshaft seal has grooved the crankshaft causing it to leak oil like crazy. The other has maybe 200 hrs on it and it has side play on the bottom of the crank which is also causing massive oil leak.
