Wanting more info. on my Scag walk behind mower I just bought.

A couple of days ago I bought a used 48inch, belt drive Scag walk behind mower. The mower is in great shape and has always been taken care of. However, it needs a new PTO switch as the one on it has seen it's better days. Here is the model and serial numbers off the mower.
Model : SW48-14KH
Serial : 19160153

Where is the best place to get one?

Take your model and serial to your local scag dealer, and make sure it is OEM. They should have it or be able to order it for you.

Okay thanks, and what if I were to order a new one on Ebay? Reason being the prices are usually cheaper.

You could try but buyer beware. You dont know what your getting on ebay, could not be right and ruin oyur whole electrical system.

I could very well be missing something, but I just ran that model number through a parts site and it appears to be a manual clutch/PTO. So, if that is in fact the case, I'm not sure which "switch" you are needing. If it is an electrical part, might you be meaning one of the safety interlock cutoff switches?

Umm I don't know why the info. you found would say that because the mower has an electronic PTO, not manual. I guess it is possible that the owner before me turned it into an electronic blade engagement, but I would highly dought that. What website did you find that info. on?

I merely spent about two minutes on http://www.partstree.com and tried to look within the serial number range. Closest I could find to the serial gave me a manual clutch. Again, I'm probably missing something, as I've never seen the machine before lol

Yeah I never use Parts tree, half their part numbers/ diagrams are wrong. I always use a dealers website.

Lol, yeah I know what you mean. And also, do the numbers next to the model numbers on websites refer to the serial number?
