11hp Hi-way Leaf Sucker

I am looking at a Hi-way 11hp Briggs truck loader. Is the 11 a waste? I am sure the 16 is better and faster but quite a bit more $$. I have heard of a lot of clogging with the smaller units. Can someone share their experience with these? I have yet to use a leaf sucker and will be doing cleanups solo this year along with my walker.

I will share away.....

BUY the biggest vac you can afford.

I had the small 16hp Parker and have used a 16hp Billygoat and they all clog up.

Now a Giant Vac 30hp, clogged once on the intake side due to wet leaves and big sticks.

11hp is asking for more clogs

I just bought the Hiway 11 hp two weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It is replacing a 8 hp peco unit so it should be fine for us. I just mounted a set of wheels on it to make it easier to move around and am building an extension pipe for it. I don't plan on using it as a tailgate unit. It was a demo that I bought at a auction for Can $1800. We also use a Walker and now just have to get a small dump truck.
They also had a couple of 24" laoders there but I never stayed for them.

16 hp HiWay Leaf Loader

ksland, I bought the 16gp HiWay Leaf loader for $1350. What a deal and I am very happy with it. Try to go with the larger model...the extra money spent will be well worth it.

HiWay Leaf Vac

I bought the unit factory direct because they are discontinuing the leaf vacs totally. In order to get one you will probably have to find a HiWay dealer quick to buy one from remaining inventory. Also, no need to worry about parts or warranties on the HiWay items as they told me that they will continue to honor warranty and provide replacement parts for many years to come. They decided to move strictly into large machinery intended for government infrastructure workers.

I've ran an 8hp, 9hp, 11hp and 16hp.

Like LGF said, go with the bigger one and you won't regret it. The difference from the 11 to 16 was definetly noticable.

It doesn't clog nearly as much, and when it does, you usually just need to push the intake up and shake it a bit.

You won't regret going bigger.
