Anyone wear masks because of allergies, etc?

I've been mowing some dry lawns and dust and grass and everything else has been clouding up the air when I mow. My lungs feel a bit heavy and I was sneezing like crazy during my mowing today.

Anyone else run into this problem and wear one of those masks?

I have kicked up loads of dirt and sneezed a ton and thought about wearing a mask but never did. I have seen some guys do it though.

Haven't this year yet, but have in the past, primarily in the fall when it gets really dusty. 3-M makes a disposable mask that has a valve in it. Not all that expensive. Not the most comfortable thing in the world, a little hot, but they work quite well.

I only do if it's really dusty or if I'm dethatching or bagging leaves

I wear one because of sinus conditions coupled with smoking cigars "Hoyo de Monterey". The mask has two small filters that can be changed. I also wear ear guards which keeps the same particles out of the ear canal which will also cause problems. This protection keeps me on the road and no down time due to serious sinus infections.

I wear a 3m P100 filter (the mask with the two pink disc filters) when I'm vacuuming leaves.
It keeps me from sneezing up black stuff, but enough dust still gets to my eyes that it doesn't really help too much with allergies.

I turn the rpms down on the mower. Sometimes I breath threw a hand towel I bring everyday.

Yesir! Respro Techno is what I wear. It's awesome. In this drought it's dusty every day! A little pricey but the replacement filters are cheap.

PS My two helpers always bring bandanas. Seems to work well as a cheaper alternative.
